I’ve been following the good Captain’s adventures for the last couple of years and must say that this rebooting of the continuity kicks ass! A shade of Michael Moorcock perhaps but so wonderfully written. Very cool.

Captain Juan sounds like a fascinating character and it will be on me to go and read the serial.
Loved the characterisation and the sword’s history. Reminds me of the Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride.

I know who the Captain was and my bet is Devon is a long forgotten descendent of the good captain. Which raises a plethora of delicious possibilities. I would have like to have got a glimpse at Devon’s features. Perhaps a little olive coloring?

This would make an awesome Xmas special. Oohhh… My weekend is off to an awesome start! Now to see if I can pen something.

Oh, I hope you continue this. You raised so many questions with such a fantastical item. Why was the fat man destined to procure the sword? Why was Devon chosen? Who was the Spanish Captain?
